Manchester United have plenty of experience in their ranks heading into the new Premier League season
When you look at the great Manchester United teams of the past, there have always been bona fide leaders. Leaders of men who will marshal and galvanise the troops on and off the field. Think Sir Bobby Charlton, Roy Keane, Bryan Robson.
And this season, Erik ten Hag will be hoping that Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford can add to the leadership mentality he is fostering at Old Trafford.
Onana has already made quite an impression since arriving from Inter. During United’s pre-season defeat to Borussia Dortmund, the goalkeeper delivered a dressing down of Harry Maguire on the field.
The defender had hit a laboured back pass to the keeper that forced Onana to clear his lines and subsequently turned into Dortmund retrieving possession and having an attempt at goal. Onana was having none of it and immediately ran towards Maguire once the ball had gone out of play.
